Cook loves soccer – or football, depending on where you are – so much that he still plays for his local team! The team is called Packhorse FC.

Number Six: Helders Is a Bionic Drummer

Drummer Matt Helders got into an accident when he was boxing as part of a workout. His injuries were so serious that he now has a metal plate in his left arm and sometimes calls himself a bionic drummer.

Number Five: The Name for Their Debut Albums Isn’t Original

It’s true! The Arctic Monkeys’ debut album, titled Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, is actually a quote. The quote comes from an Alan Sillitoe novel titled Saturday Night And Sunday Morning.

Number Four: Helders Draws Inspiration From Led Zeppelin

In fact, Helders has said that John Bonham – Led Zeppelin’s late drummer – is his biggest inspiration. He said that Bonham inspires him to play drums and is his biggest hero.

Number Three: Alex Turner Loves Bourbon

Lead singer Alex Turner has said that his drink of choice is Bulleit bourbon. What a great way to warm up in cold weather!

Number Two: One of Their Most Famous Songs Alludes to Duran Duran

The Arctic Monkeys song titled “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” has a lyric that goes “Your name isn’t Rio / But I don’t care for sand.” The lyric is actually a reference to Duran Duran’s song titled “Rio.”

Number One: They Love ‘The Wire’
