Director Chris Robinson and the original cast of the ATL film, will begin shooting some time soon. The cast, consisting of T.I., Jackie Long, Jason Weaver, and Albert Daniels, confirmed the news on social media. Robinson told his Instagram followers that the sequel will be “legendary.” Additional details regarding ATL’s second installment have not been released yet.

ATL premiered in 2006, and it was produced by Will Smith, Dallas Austin, James Lassiter, and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins (TLC). Besides the film’s main cast, ATL featured appearances from Big Boi (Outkast), Lauren London, and Evan Ross. T.I. is currently starring in the reality television show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, which has been on VH1 for four seasons. Now that the rapper is filming the sequel to ATL, his film career seems to be moving upward.

Unfortunately, his music career seems to have stalled a bit. The rapper has released nine studio albums in his career, including his latest effort Paperwork (2014). The album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, but it hasn’t achieved much since then. Five singles have been dropped from the album, “About the Money” (featuring Young Thug), “No Mediocre” (featuring Iggy Azalea), “New National Anthem” (featuring Skylar Grey), “G Shit” (featuring Jeezy and Watch the Duck), and “Private Show” (featuring Chris Brown). To date, none of the songs have cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, despite having features from some of music’s biggest artists.

The rapper’s Paper Trial album is currently his most successful project, and it sold over 568,000 copies in its first week of sales. The album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and featured eight hit singles including, “Whatever You Like,” “Live Your Live” (featuring Rihanna), “Dead and Gone” (featuring Justin Timberlake), and “Swagga Like Us” (with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne). Paper Trial has been certified double-platinum, after selling over two million copies in the US. Before Paper Trial was released, T.I.’s King album was his most successful effort.

King also sold over 500,000 copies in its debut week, and it went to the top of Billboard 200 chart as well. The project featured the double-platinum selling single “What You Know,” which was also the theme song for the film ATL. In 2006, “What You Know” won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. T.I. is supposed to release two albums this year, Paperwork: The Return and Paperwork: Love and Liability, but those albums may be postponed from now.

FDRMX Eyes: Karate Dancer is an alternative band from Spain. They are currently based in Ecuador and have released a music video entitled “Main Roads.”
