Billboard Music Awards Recap: Winning Artists

The Billboard Music Awards was held last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (NV). The big event was televised on ABC, and it was co-hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen. The night’s biggest nominee, Taylor Swift, won eight of the fourteen awards she was nominated for. The pop star also premiered the music video for “Bad Blood” at the beginning of the Billboard Awards. The highly-anticipated video featured cameos by Kendrick Lamar, Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge, and countless other celebrities.

After the video aired, it became one of the trending topics on Twitter last night. Ironically, Swift is currently at the top of the Billboard Social 50 chart, which ranks artists based on social media interactions. Swift earned the award for Top Artist last night at the show, beating out Ariana Grande, Katy Perry, One Direction, and Sam Smith. The rest of Swift’s wins include the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album for 1989, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist, and Top Streaming Song for “Shake It Off.”
