Singer and songwriter Björk is back with her ninth studio album. The album, Vulnicura, will be released in March. Björk shared a hand-written note on social media that revealed the album’s song titles and music producers. Vulnicura’s track list include “Stonemilker,” “Lionsong,” “History of Touches,” ” Black Lake,” “Family,” “Notget,” “Atom Dance,” “Mouth Mantra,” and “Quicksand.” Famed producer, Arca, produced six of the songs and co-wrote two with Björk. Arca, also known as Alejandro Ghersi, previously worked on Kanye West’s Yeezus album. Arca was the producer on FKA Twigs’ EP2 project too. British musician and producer, The Haxan Cloak, will also contribute his work on Vulnicura

Björk’s last album Biophilia was released in 2011. It has been credited as the first “app” album. Biophilia released a series of apps linking the album’s themes to musicology concepts. The multimedia project was followed by a series of educational workshops as well. The project won a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. Apple chose the Biophilia app as one of the top five music apps of 2011. It was also inducted into the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Björk has had quite a successful music career. Thirty of her singles have reached the Top 40 on the pop charts. Not only has Björk been nominated for fourteen Grammy Awards, her song “I’ve Seen It All” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song

In 2001, Björk made headlines for her iconic “swan dress” that she wore at the Academy Awards. In an interview, Björk spoke about the infamous swan dress, “I was very aware when I went to the Academy Awards that it would probably be my first and last time. So I thought my input should really be about fertility, and I thought I’d bring some eggs.” The dress was redesigned by Valentino at Paris Fashion Week. Björk will be shown at the Museum of Modern Art  this year; a full-scale retrospective exhibition will be displayed. She is one of the few musicians to achieve such an honor. Björk has also announced she will be performing at this year’s Governor’s Ball
