Canadian music sensation Bryan Adams may be 56 years old, but he’s still going strong. The singer has spent a large part of his life in the spotlight; however, there are still some things that many people do not know about him. With that in mind, here we present our list of 15 things you probably didn’t know about Lionel Richie. Number Fifteen: He Quit School When He Was 16 Years Old. In fact, Adams’ mother even let him spend his college fund on a grand piano! He quit school to pursue a career in music.

Number Fourteen: He Played in a Glam Rock Band. Before he began his solo career, Adams was part of a glam rock band in Vancouver called Sweeney Todd. He was the singer, and he joined when he was 16 years old.

Number Thirteen: He Set a Canadian Record for Record Sales. Adams’ fourth album, Reckless, was the first album by a Canadian artist to sell one million copies…in Canada. In the United States, the album sold more than five million copies.

Number Twelve: He Wanted to Be an Actor. And he even acted alongside Clint Eastwood! In 1989, Adams was featured in Pink Cadillac as a gas station attendant. And that’s not the only acting he’s done – he was also in 2002’s House of Fools.

Number Eleven: He Had a Global Childhood. Though Adams was born in Kingston, Ontario, he actually grew up partially in Europe and Asia. He moved around so often because of his father, who was a Canadian Foreign Service diplomat.

Number Ten: He Is a Talented Photographer. He is so talented, in fact, that his work has been featured in British Vogue, L’uomo Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Interview magazine, and i-D. He has even shot ad campaigns for several big companies!

Number Nine: His Music Was Almost Featured in Top GunExecutives for Top Gun, featuring Tom Cruise, wanted to use Adams’ “Only The Strong Survive” in the film; however, Adams refused to let them. He turned them down because he thought the film was glorifying war.
