Buffalo Bills assistant coach Aaron Kroner was arrested for misdemeanor battery for allegedly punching a boy in the face. The offensive line coach is also being accused of threatening to kill the boy’s family. Kromer was reportedly at the beach fishing with his family, when he confronted three boys in regards to the use of beach chairs. The coach pushed one of the boys to the ground, punched him in the face, and then tossed the victim’s fishing pole into the water. According to a statement, Kromer ordered the boy to return his beach chair where he found it, and he threatened to kill the victim’s family if he reported the assault to the police. The coach was booked in a Walton County jail in Florida, and he was released on bond a couple of hours later. The Buffalo Bills’ organization acknowledged they were aware of the police report, and they were in the process of gathering all of the facts. Kromer, a former Chicago Bears offensive coordinator, joined the Bills staff earlier this year.
The Bills will enter the 2015-16 season with a new head coach- former New York Jets’ coach Rex Ryan. The Bills have been somewhat of the “stepchild” in the state of New York recently- but Ryan is confident he can turn the franchise around. Even though the NFL season hasn’t started, Ryan has already won over the hearts of the people in Buffalo. The head coach was able to turn the New York Jets back into a respective program, and the team made back-to-back AFC Championship Game appearances in 2009 and 2010.
The Bills most notable signings during the off-season were LeSean McCoy (RB) and Percy Harvin (WR). McCoy is one of the best running backs in the NFL, and he rushed for 1,319 yards as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles last season. Harvin has shown moments of greatness at times, and playing under the tutelage of Rex Ryan may be the perfect fit for the wide receiver. Harvin’s career statistics includes 3,802 receiving yards, 332 receptions, and 21 touchdowns. Quarterbacks EJ Manuel, Matt Cassel, Tyrod Taylor, and Matt Simms will compete for the starting job for the Buffalo Bills.
