Two of the most celebrated singers in Country Music will be performing a duet at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert will take the stage for one of the most powerful duet collaborations of the year. The performance is also anticipated for the debut of their new duet “Somethin’ Bad” which will feature on Lambert’s album “Platinum”.
The two singers are evenly matched in accomplishments with Lambert being the reigning CMA and ACM Female Vocalist of the year while Underwood owns an impressive six Grammy awards. Together Lambert and Underwood have released 16 number one singles and 8 number one albums on each respective chart. Adding to the accomplishments is Underwoods status as a 2014 Finalist for Milestone Award, given to an innovative artist who has achieved a notable chart milestone over the past year. Because the Milestone Award is based on online votes this duet announcement will most likely gather more voters to support Underwood.
The dynamic duo will be headlining an already stacked lineup that includes Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, Jason Derulo, Imagine Dragons, John Legend, and Pitbull. Despite the large scale of the event the singers remain focused on perfecting their new single for its highly anticipated reveal.
“I’m a huge Carrie Underwood fan,” Lambert told Billboard today. “‘Somethin’ Bad is a meshing of our styles and there aren’t many female collaborations in our format so i’m really excited to be debuting it on the Billboard Awards.”
The awards will be held at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 18th in Las Vegas. Red Carpet footage can be streamed via Yahoo while the live feed of the awards can be viewed at Billboard’s website.
