Ciara just unveiled the artwork for her Jackie album, which will be released some time this year. The photographer for her cover art was Francesco Carrozzini, and Vogue editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani was the creative director for the photo shoot. Jackie is Ciara’s sixth studio album; her other projects include Goodies, Ciara: The Evolution, Fantasy Ride, Basic Instinct, and Ciara. Some of Ciara’s biggest hits from her albums include “Like A Boy,” “Get Up,” “Body Party,” “Goodies,” “1, 2 Step,” “Promise,” and “Oh” featuring Ludacris.
The R&B singer’s new single “I Bet” was released earlier this year. The song has reached Number 15 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and Number 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. “I Bet” had also impacted the singles chart in Canada and Belgium. The record has been met with controversy, after So So Def Records’ CEO Jermaine Dupri called “I Bet” a complete ripoff of Usher’s “U Got It Bad” (written and produced by Dupri in 2001). Dupri hasn’t stated if he will take legal action, but he did reveal that he has contacted the songwriters and producers of “I Bet.” Harmony Samuels (Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, and Jennifer Lopez) wrote the song, and the production duo Rock City (Rihanna, Justin Bieber, and R. Kelly) produced it.
Despite the controversy surrounding “I Bet,” Ciara continues to promote her hit single and new project. The singer taped an appearance on Live! with Kelly and Michael yesterday, and the episode will air on April 3rd. During her Live! show appearance, Ciara performed “I Bet.” Ciara will reportedly make an appearance on NBC’s I Can Do That in the summer. The variety show will also feature Joe Jonas, Cheryl Burke, and Nicole Scherzinger.
Along with the unveiling of her new cover art, Ciara also released her upcoming Jackie Tour dates in May. The first show on the tour is scheduled on May 3rd in Chicago (Illinois). Ciara will also travel to New York, New York (5th); Boston, Massachusetts (7th); Silver Spring, Maryland (9th); Glenside, Pennsylvania (10th); Charlotte, North Carolina (12th); Atlanta, Georgia (13th); Miami, Florida (15th); Tampa, Florida (16th); Houston, Texas (20th); San Antonio, Texas (23rd); Corpus Christi, Texas (24th); San Diego, California (27th); Riverside, California (29th); Los Angeles, California (30th); and San Francisco, California (31st).
