Number Eight: He Worked With Alanis Morissette. Along with Dave Navarro, Flea worked with Morissette on her hit single “You Oughta Know.”

Number Seven: He Had Trouble With the Law. In 1990, Flea and Chad Smith were in Florida during a taping of MTV’s Spring Break when things got a little too wild. He and Chad Smith were charged with and found guilty of battery, solicitation, and disorderly conduct. They had jumped off of the stage and spanked a random woman.

Number Six: He Was Close With River Phoenix. In fact, Flea was supposed to perform with Phoenix on the night he died. They were together at The Viper Club that night. The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ song called “Transcending” is about River Phoenix.

Number Five: Before the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flea Was With… Flea played bass for bands like What Is This?, Fear and Jane’s Addiction before he began working with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has also collaborated with The Mars Volta and Johnny Cash.

Number Four: He Got His Nickname as a Child. Flea earned his nickname because he apparently could not stay in any one place for very long as a child. He reportedly struggled with sitting still and focusing.

Number Three: He Started Smoking Weed When He Was 13 Years Old. To cope with his bad household environment (aggressively alcoholic father), Flea began smoking marijuana when he was just 13 years old. He then became a daily user of the drug.

Number Two: He Loves the Lakers. Flea is a fan of both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Lakers. He attends many games, and he has even performed the National Anthem before several Lakers games.

Number One: He Has Been Active Since 1982. Flea has been active in the music industry for over 30 years, which is incredibly impressive for someone with such a successful career.
