For those of you wanting to see Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson and Kristen Stewart dress in drag, your day has come! The trio of Hollywood leading ladies joined forces with Jenny Lewis for the former Rilo Kiley front woman’s “Just One of the GuysMusic Video. The video features all four women dressed in drag complete with thick mustaches and ridiculous tracksuits. Special mention goes to Stewart, who looks almost unrecognizable with her hair hidden and a magnificent Tom Selleck ‘stache across her face.

It’s great to see Jenny Lewis have so much fun with this music video, especially in light of her interview with Rolling Stone that revealed how the death of her estranged father and the breakup of Rilo Kiley caused a lot of turmoil for her. “Making [her most recent album] The Voyager got me through one of the most difficult periods of my life…I completely melted down. It nearly destroyed me. I had such severe insomnia that, at one point, I didn’t sleep for five straight nights. Many of the songs on The Voyager came out of the need to occupy my mind in the moments when I just couldn’t shut down.”

The video is more than just a good time, however. Each of the three actresses are there to remind viewers of the sexist double standards that exist in entertainment. While the lyrics may have been written from Lewis’s own experiences in the music industry, the presence of Hathaway, Larson, and Stewart remind of the problems in the film industry. A deeper analysis needs to be made later on, but for not its nice to see four influential artists come together like this.

That’s not to say the actresses’ inclusion was only made to make a statement. There’s some serious business strategy going on here. Hathaway, Larson, and Stewart control three very different and far-reaching fan bases. By including all three, Lewis has guaranteed exposure to the Comic Book/Academy Award crowd (Hathaway), the Community/21 Jump Street crowd (Larson), and of course the screaming Twilight horde (Stewart). Throw in Lewis’s own fan base and this becomes one of the most marketable music videos of the year that includes Aloe Blacc’s breakout and The Dream’s Black.  Well done, Lewis. Well done.

If any of the above appealed to you, be sure to check out the video for yourself right here.
