Texas-born, Florida-raised rapper Gunplay has announced a May release date for his solo debut LP, Living Legend. The album, which has had a series of name changes since its 2013 inception, starting with Bogotá, then Medellin, and finally its current name, was written in only thirty minutes and hosts collaborations with artists such as Pharrell, Yo Gotti, Young Dro, Curren$y, August Alsina, and Big Sean. Gunplay, who changed his stage name to Don Logan earlier this year reportedly to make it easier for his label to release his album, took to Instagram to not only let fans know about his upcoming album release, but to announce his latest single, “Tell Em Daddy,” is due out this week.

Logan, whose real name is Richard Morales Jr., got his start when he joined Rick Ross‘ group Triple C‘s along with Torch and Young Breed. In 2009 after signing to Ross’ record label, Maybach Music Group, the band released Custom Cars and Cycles which debuted at number forty-four on Billboard 200. Logan’s solo career began when he was featured on Rick Ross’ track “Gunplay,” off the album Deeper Than Rap. Since then, Logan has released several solo mixtapes off the Def Jam label, which he signed to in 2012. 601 & Snort was praised by critics and was even named the tenth best album of 2012 by Spin Magazine. He also featured on Lil Wayne‘s album I Am Not A Human Being II with the song “Beat The Shit.”

In 2012 at the BET Hip Hop Awards, several of G-Unit affiliates and Logan got into a fistfight backstage, with Logan being jumped by at least five members of G-Unit. During the scuffle, Logan lost his diamond-encrusted MMG chain which was later seen on 50 Cent as he bowled. The chain also made an appearance in the “Major Distribution” video clip, being worn by Kidd Kidd‘s son. Logan wasn’t the only Maybach Music Group signee making headlines that night. Rick Ross and Young Jeezy got into an argument backstage, which led to pushing and shoving, and eventually, escalated to gunshots being heard in the parking lot of Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center, as Young Jeezy and Ross were seen fleeing the scene.

FDRMX Eyes: India’s The Other People have recently premiered their music video entitled “So Damn Beautiful.” “So Damn Beautiful” addresses the empowerment of women, encouraging them to take a stand and be self-confident.
