One Direction‘s Harry Styles and Meghan Trainor recently wrote a song together. Trainor said she is not sure whether the song will be released, but the pop singer mentioned the experience was “unbelievable.” Trainor spoke to BBC Radio about the songwriting session, “I wrote a song with Harry. It was unbelievable. He’s a very, very talented songwriter- I was very impressed.” Trainor described the song as a “cute acoustic love thing.” The two pop singers also recorded a rough demo of the song. During an interview with UK’s Sun, Trainor added, “I was worried he’d just be a 20-year old boy, so I walked in with a prepared verse and chorus. But he gave me very poetic, mature lyrics.” She continued, “I was like, ‘well, damn Harry, you know what love is.'”
Harry Styles is no stranger to songwriting. He has written songs for his band One Direction, as well as other artists. In 2011, Styles co-wrote three songs on One Direction’s Up All Night album, including the song “Taken.” The following year, he wrote five songs on the group’s Take Me Home album. Styles has written on four One Direction albums including their latest release, Four. In 2014, the singer wrote “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” for Ariana Grande and “Not Our Fault” for Gavin DeGraw. Meghan Trainor has also written songs for other artists including Rascal Flatts, Fifth Harmony, Sabrina Carpenter, and R5. Last year, Trainor wrote “DJ Tonight” for Rascal Flatts’ Rewind album. Trainor also wrote “Sledgehammer“ for Fifth Harmony. The song will be featured on their new album Reflection album, which is scheduled to be released this year. “Sledgehammer” peaked at Number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and Number 22 on the Billboard Top 40 charts.
The season eight premiere of NBC’s The Voice is just one month away. Multiple media reports confirm Meghan Trainor will be a celebrity mentor on the show. She is allegedly expected to assist Team Blake Shelton. It also has been reported that Trainor will be joined by The Voice’s other celebrity mentors including Lionel Richie (Team Pharrell Williams), Ellie Goulding (Team Adam Levine), and Nick Jonas (Team Christina Aguilera).
