Justin Bieber is working on his new album, and although he’s hesitant to say the cliche answer that the album is “different,” the singer says that’s the best way to describe his new sound. “I don’t want to say it’s different because that’s what everyone says, but it is different. It’s a grown up version of Justin and I think people will be shocked,” Bieber told USA Today. In order to make his transition into a more mature sound, the pop singer has enlisted two of music’s most elite producers, Kanye West and Rick Rubin. “I’m finishing up the album now, working with Kanye and Rick. I’m not rushing it. I’ll just wait until its totally done,” he stated.
Bieber also said that the songs on the album will represent his personal growth and life experiences. The singer believes his faith is what got him through the dark times in his life, and he wants his new project to give people hope and the belief that they can “get back up and keep going.” Bieber removed a lot of people from his inner circle that he believes were negative influences on his life. “You’re around some people sometimes and it might taint what you believe. I think that’s what happened with me; I lowered my beliefs,” the singer stated to USA Today. He continued, “I left a lot of people behind who weren’t on the same journey I was on. I’ve got a lot of new people in my life who are pouring into me, and not taking away from me.”
Bieber maintained that his new life changes includes being more focused on himself. The singer’s growth also means he’s not looking for a girlfriend, until he’s ready for a relationship. “I’m just trying to make sure I’m 100 percent so I can add to the person I want to be with. I want a girl I can trust, and who I can lean on,” Bieber stated. The pop singer revealed that he had completed his new album, but he chose to re-do the project because he has a more positive story to tell. Bieber said he is so happy right now, and he has an “awesome” support system of family and friends.
