Justin Bieber made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show for her birthday celebration today. DeGeneres sent a message on social media about Bieber appearing on her show, “I can’t believe the surprise I got for my birthday show. Then I saw his face. Now I’m a Belieber.” After the show’s taping, the pop star made quite an interesting confession on social media. Bieber explained that he was really nervous during his Ellen interview, considering it was his first public appearance in a while. “I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now.” Bieber continued, “It’s been a minute since I’ve been in a public appearance, and I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited or basically how I’ve been acting the past year, year and a half.”
The pop singer also said he is not the person he has been pretending to be. Bieber explained that he was mainly pretending to be something he’s not, in order to cover up his true feelings. “Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Just growing up in general is hard,” Bieber explained. The recording artist wanted people to know just how much he cares about people, and that he’s not a “I don’t give a f–ck” kind of person. During his interview on the Ellen Show, the singer did address his anxiety, and he spoke about his upcoming roast on Comedy Central. Bieber told Ellen, “I think it’s cool to laugh at yourself- I’ve done some things that might not have been the greatest.” Bieber added, “I just want to be able to laugh about it, and just kind of own up to some of these things.”
The last couple of years for Bieber have been wild and reckless at times. Last year, a radio station in Canada banned the pop singer’s music. The music ban came after Bieber was arrested in South Florida for suspicion of driving under the influence, drag racing, and driving with an expired license. The radio station claimed the Justin Bieber music ban was meant to send a message to the singer to get help.
