Kanye West Will Perform at ATL’s Birthday Bash

Kanye West will take the stage at this year’s Birthday Bash in Atlanta (GA). Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 revealed that West is one of the headliners for Birthday Bash 20, which will take place on June 20th at Philips Arena. The big event will also feature performances by Ludacris, Future, Wale, Rae Sremmurd, Big Boi, B.o.B, Kevin Gates, Soulja Boy, Bun B, and more. Even though West is known as a rapper from Chicago, he was actually born in the city of Atlanta. This summer’s appearance marks his third time performing at Atlanta’s Birthday Bash.

West continues to make his rounds on the music festival circuit. The rapper made a surprise appearance at Coachella in April, and he headlined Wango Tango earlier this month in California.  Next month, West will headline the Glastonbury Festival, which will take place in the United Kingdom from June 24th through the 28th. Some of the other artists on the enormous lineup list include Florence + the Machine, Foo Fighters, The Who, Pharrell Williams, Motörhead, Mary J. Blige, George Ezra, Deadmau5, FKA Twigs, Run the Jewels, Mark Ronson, Charli XCX, Hozier, and Alabama Shakes.

The rapper just settled his lawsuit with Ricky Spicer, who sued West (and his record labels) for using his voice in the single “Bound 2.” Spicer was a singer in the group Ponderosa Twins Plus One, and his voice was used several times in the hit single without his permission. The singer’s voice can be heard on the chorus of “Bound 2.” Even though the specific details regarding the settlement have not been made public, Spicer discontinued the lawsuit because a proper settlement has been reached.

“Bound 2” is a single from West’s Yeezus album, which was released two years ago. The song reached Number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it peaked at Number 3 on both the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the Hot Rap Songs chart. “Bound 2” was certified platinum in the US, after it sold over one million copies. West, No I.D., Mike Dean, Che Pope, Eric Danchick, and Goldstein were are credited as producers for the hit single.

FDRMX Eyes: Project Revival‘s music video “Pain” is thrilling. The music is fast paced with heavy guitar riffs and raspy, melodic vocals. The lyrics speak of surviving during the darkest times. Check out the video here:
