Rapper Lil Durk‘s manager, Uchenna Agina, was shot and killed in Chicago on Friday. Uchenna, also known as Chino, was sitting in his car outside of the Stony Sub restaurant when a man approached his vehicle and began shooting. The 24-year old Agina was struck several times, including one shot that struck his head (via the Chicago Tribune). Agina was rushed to Advocate Trinity Hospital where he was pronounced dead. It was confirmed by NBA All-Star Joakim Noah that Agina attended the NBA player’s Anti-Violence event hours before he was killed. Earlier that day, Agina posted Durk’s remix version of Chief Keef’s “Faneto” on social media.

Lil Durk’s label, Def Jam Recordings, released a statement in regards to the tragic death of Agina. “We are deeply saddened by the news of this tragedy. The Def Jam family shares our most heartfelt sympathy, condolences, and prayers with the family and loved ones of Uchenna Agina,” a spokesperson from the label wrote in a statement to Billboard magazine. Several people in the hip hop community sent their condolences on social media after hearing about Agina’s death. Trae the Truth, French Montana, Chino Dolla, Chinx, all sent their condolences to Agina and his family. According to the Chicago Tribune, Agina was convicted of misdemeanor gun possession five years ago. Durk is currently dealing with a felony gun case as well.

Besides being a signed rapper to Def Jam, Durk is also signed to French Montana’s Coke Boys record label.
