Lil Twist has reportedly been charged with six felonies, according to TMZ. The rapper was involved in an incident last year at Kyle Massey‘s (That’s So Raven, Cory in the House, and Dancing With the Stars) house, for which he has been accused of assaulting Massey with brass knuckles. Twist and others were at the actor’s home, when a verbal altercation occurred, and so the rapper and his friends were asked to leave.
Twist and his friends left Massey’s home, but they returned to the residence later, which is when the alleged assault occurred. Besides hitting Massey with brass knuckles, Twist was also accused of stealing the actor’s cell phone and wallet. The rapper has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft, battery, criminal threats, and burglary. There is a warrant out for Twist’s arrest, who now faces up to 25 years in prison (if convicted).
Lil Twist, who may be most known for being Justin Bieber‘s friend, is signed to Young Money Entertainment. The rapper has yet to release a studio album, but he has dropped several mixtapes. Some of those mixtapes include The Golden Child, Year Book, The Takeover, Class President, and 3 Weeks in Miami. Since 2009, Twist has released a number of singles including “The Leak” and “Love Affair” both featuring Lil Wayne, “Little Secret” featuring Bow Wow, “New Money” featuring Mishon, “Turn’t Up” featuring Busta Rhymes, “Pyrex” featuring Cory Gunz, and “Good Credit” featuring Foolie Faime.
To date, Twist’s best charting single as a solo artist is “The Leak,” which reached Number 77 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The rapper has appeared on both of Young Money’s compilation projects, We Are Young Money and Young Money: Rise of an Empire. His features on the projects include “Girl, I Got You” and “Finale” (We Are Young Money), and “Bang,” “One Time,” and “Back It Up” (Young Money: Rise of an Empire).
Along with his label features, Twist has been featured on songs with Justin Bieber, Lil Chuckie, 2 Chainz, Lil Za, Khalil, and Miley Cyrus. The rapper’s project, Bad Decisions, was expected to be released last year, but it has been pushed back several times. Earlier this year, the rapper revealed he was leaving Young Money Entertainment because he was not being promoted properly. According to Young Money, Lil Twist is still signed to the record label.
