Little Big Town Forced to Cancel Tour Dates

Little Big Town revealed they are either canceling or postponing all of their gigs through July 30th. Band member Jimi Westbrook will undergo surgery in order to have a polyp removed from his vocal cord. “With heavy hearts we want to let you guys know Jimi will have to undergo surgery next week to remove a polyp on his vocal cord. As a result, doctors have ordered him to rest his voice and completely recuperate before we continue touring,” a statement from Little Big Town read. While a lot of the dates have been canceled, a few shows will be rescheduled for a later date. Fans can view the rescheduled dates on Little Big Town’s website.

Little Big Town consists of Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman, and the before-mentioned Jimi Westbrook. The country music quartet was formed in 1998, and the band has released six studio albums since their formation. Little Big Town’s projects include their self-titled debut in 2002,The Road to Here in 2005, A Place to Land in 2007, The Reason Why in 2010, Tornado in 2012, and Pain Killer in 2014. Pain Killer features the hit singles “Day Drinking” and “Girl Crush.” Last year, the band won Vocal Group of the Year at the CMA Awards show.

On July 31st, the band is scheduled to perform in Harrington, DE at the Delaware State Fair. Their other tour dates includes dates in St. Leonard, Maryland on August 1st; Monroe, Michigan on August 2nd; Medina, Ohio on August 6th; Clearfield, Pennsylvania on August 7th; Verona, New York on August 14th; Vienna, Virginia on August 15th; Hamburg, New York on August 16th; Las Vegas, Nevada on August 18th; Avondale, Canada on August 22nd; Highland Park, Illinois on August 28th; Kansas City, Missouri on August 29th; Little Rock, Arkansas on August 30th; Allentown, Pennsylvania on September 2nd; and Boston, Massachusetts on September 4th. Little Big Town’s tour is expected to run through the month of November. The last show on the tour is a date in Spokane, Washington on November 21st.
