Number Thirteen: Greyscale is Inspired by a Real Disease
There exists a real condition called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans progressive. This condition is very rare and causes your soft tissues to turn slowly to bone, meaning that the unlucky sufferers quite literally “turn to stone”.
Number Twelve: Lena Heady Gives Spoilers
The actress who stars as the scheming queen on Game of Thrones was seen dropping hints about upcoming scenes in the show on her instagram account. This was back in 2014.
Number Eleven: Tritonia Khaleesi
In 2013, scientists found a few species of sea slug off the South American coast. It reminded them of the hair of the character Daenerys Targaryen, so they named it Tritonia khaleesi.
Number Ten: Famous Musicians have Starred in the Game of Thrones
If you’ve paid attention closely, you may have noticed some of them. The lead singer of Snow Patrol sang in a scene from season three, and the drummer from Coldplay is one of the musicians playing at the Red Wedding.
Number Nine: Peter Vaughan is Blind in Real Life
The actor who plays Maester Aemon Targaryen is actually partially blind. He is still acting at age 92 and believes that one should continue as long as they are still able.
Number Eight: Scripts were Stolen
The author of Game of Thrones claims that a postal worker stole some of his scripts. He wanted them back so much, he took to asking his readers to keep an eye out for them on the internet. To this day, they’ve never been found.
Number Seven: The Mountain and the Viper Scene Could Really Happen
If the battle between The Mountain and The Viper were to actually happen in real life, The Mountain would have really been able to crush his opponent’s head. It’s been proven (don’t ask me how) and claimed by Time magazine that he is really strong enough to do that. We hope you enjoyed part two, part three is coming soon.
